On Wednesday October 31st, at approximately 1:39pm, the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting a train vs car crash in Dodge Center. Deputies responded to the railroad intersection
on 2nd Street NW west of 10th Ave NW in Dodge Center. This intersection is controlled by a stop
There they discovered a vehicle had failed to yield to the train and was struck towards the rear of the vehicle causing it to roll. The vehicle, a 2007 Chevy Uplander, was being driven by 84 year old Lyle Lyke of rural Claremont. He was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Mayo One responded to the incident and assisted along with Dodge Center Ambulance Service.
Lyke was transported to St Mary's Hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. His current condition is unknown.
