The weather may not have cooperated, but students from local schools didn't seem to mind as they attended "School Days" at the Zumbro Bend Rendezvous last week in Dodge Center. Sixth-graders from Byron and fifth-graders from Kasson-Mantorville sloshed through water and mud on Thursday to get a view of life in the early 1800s while students from Triton and Hayfield braved cold and wind on Friday. Students also attended from Pine Island, Dover-Eyota, Zumbrota-Mazeppa and numerous groups of home-schooled students.
The school days were part of a longer rendezvous which was open to the public on Saturday and Sunday.
This was the second year the rendezvous was held in Dodge Center after the organizers decided to leave their Mantorville location after having been flooded out several years.
