Letter to the editor from Duane Quam

Dear Editor:

I want thank you for your confidence in me, when you selected me as your representative for House District 29A nearly two years ago. Most of the new District 25A is in the current 29A. It is still a diverse and dynamic mix of communities and businesses.

I will continue my practice of visiting, consulting and listening to you. I will ask the questions you want asked, and work for solutions to your issues. I will

continue to be a diligent steward of your money and resources, striving to be a leader who brings people together and gets results.

While the media writes about partisan infighting, I have been getting results. I chief authored 14 bills with Democratic co-authors. My first bill reformed government, passing 184 to 6, and is now law. My bill to improve Emergency Medical Services passed 186 to 0, and is now law. I helped to close a multibillion dollar deficit, converting it to a surplus of $1.5 billion.

My work on your behave has been noticed, and I have received a few awards: National Federation of Independent Business Minnesota "Guardian of Small Business Award" Taxpayer League of Minnesota "Best Friend of the Taxpayer" Republican Liberty Caucus, Minnesota Chapter Legislative "Honoree"

And Endorsements: Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Freedom Club, NRA, Rochester Post Bulletin, Minnesota Medical Pac, Choice in Minnesota Health Care, Minnesota Dental Pac, Minnesota Grocer's Pac

We have made progress in reducing bureaucracy, reforming regulation and permitting, rewarding entrepreneurship and encouraging growth and industry. Jobs are what we need, not government growth and intrusion.

Government needs to be the servant of the people, as it was designed and meant to be. State government must drop the 'one-size-fits-all' approach, return to being a partner with local government, and provide options for local government. Waste, bureaucracy, and unfunded mandates have to be cut. Individual liberties, parental and property rights need to be protected.

I'm Duane Quam, and I ask for your vote on Nov. 6 to be your Representative for MN HD25A.
