New College Preparation Website "Ready, Set, Go" Launches

Website provides resources to students, parents and educators for navigating path from high school to higher education

Roseville - For many students, the process of preparing for and applying to college can be a daunting task. In an effort to ease the process and ensure students and families have all the resources necessary to ease the transition from high school to higher education, the Minnesota Department of Education has launched a brand new website, "Ready, Set, Go."

"Today's students will need some form of higher education to succeed in the workforce," Education Commissioner Brenda Cassellius said. "This website will be an important tool for ensuring our students take advantage of the great post-secondary options available to them while also preparing them for the next step after high school."

The new site, made possible through a grant from the U. S. Department of Education, aims to increase awareness, participation and success in college level courses currently offered in high school through timely and engaging information and support for students, parents and teachers. Students will find resources in academic planning and college preparation while parents will have access to up-to-date information regarding Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), and other dual credit programs for their children. Teachers will find model lessons that intend to engage a broader audience of students. These lessons were developed by Minnesota AP teachers and are available for other educators to utilize.
