Five new teachers hired; Stasko, Mohr resign

Hayfield school board approved the hiring of five new teachers during their meeting on Monday, May 13.
The board hired Kiah Solber and Hilary Johnson as new elementary school teachers, Chandra Gabbert as a special education teacher, Brandon Greenfield and Amanda Gafkjen as high school teachers.
The board also accepted the resignations of Rebecca Mohr and April Stasko and thanked them for their years of service.
The board also approved increasing the cost of school lunches from $1.80 per meal to $1.90 per meal. The increases are mandated by the Federal Government School Lunch Reimbursement program and will continue until the price per meal is $2.50. "It's not something we want to do," Ron Evjen explained. "It's something we have to do."
Other items on the agenda included:
the approval of the contract with CliftonLarsonAllen LLP to conduct the 2012-2013 audit
approval of the fundraising list
approval of the School Messenger for the 2013-2014 school year.
The board will meet again on June 10 at 7 p.m. in the Hayfield High School Library.
