7/23/2013 1:15:00 PM Triton board prepares for the next year

Triton School Board members, at the regular school board meeting Monday, July 15, took care of a lot of routine business in preparation for the new school district fiscal year and the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. That business included:
designating of Farmers State Bank of West Concord, Citizens State Bank of Dodge Center, Wells Fargo Bank Minnesota N. A. of Dodge Center, Minnesota Liquid Asset Fund and Bremer Bank as official depositories for the district;
setting board stipends to be paid quarterly of $40 per board meeting, $25 for other related meetings, $80 for full day meetings, and an additional annual stipend of $250 for the board chairperson;
naming the firm of Knutson, Flynn & Deans as school attorney;
designating News Enterprise as official newspaper;
approving staff handbooks for the Triton Elementary School, Triton Middle School and Triton High School;
approving a food service agreement with Taher for school lunches;
approving payment of dues to the Minnesota School Board Association.
In other business, the board approved the resignation of Bette Mussman as accounts payable clerk and special administrative assistant effective June 30, 2013 and a contract as summer recreation assistant for Rachel Welsh.
The board set a study session date of July 29, 2013 to talk about how it will go about filling the superintendent position which Bob Kelly plans to leave at the end of this calendar year.
