Wildcat girls beat JM / Lourdes, Achiever Academy

The Dodge County Wildcat girls won two games last week, beating Achiever Academy 5-2 on December 14 at home and their arch rival, John Marshall/Lourdes, by a score of 6-2 on December 10 on the road.

Dana Rasmussen scored in the first period of the Achiever Academy game and got hurt in the head soon after from a really hard check.

"We took her out of the game, but the rest of the girls stepped up and rallied around to get a great team victory," Coach Jeremy Gunderson said.

Bella Wagner made an assist on Rasmussen's score. Brede Postier also scored a goal in the first period with an assist from Darby Dodds.

Postier scored a goal in the second period with assists from Molly Shelton and Emily Gunderson.

Dodds scored another goal in the third period with an assist from Postier. Postier scored a goal with an assist from Jacie Hoehn.

Gabby Suhr, the goalie, made 31 saves.

"The win over John Marshall/Lourdes was a really important section game because it will help us get a better seed come tournament time," Coach Gunderson said. "The games with that school are a big rivalry so it's especially fun to win."

Dodds scored a goal in the first period with an assist from Gunderson. Shelton scored a goal in the first period with assists from Gunderson and Dodds.

Rasmussen scored a goal in the second period with an assist from Wagner.

Rasmussen scored a goal in the third period with an assist from Wagner. Postier scored a goal with assists from Dodds and Gunderson. Rasmussen scored a second goal with assists from Gunderson and Hollywood Hermanson.

Suhr made 18 saves.

The Dodge County girls beat lost to Eden Prairie 3-2 on December 7.

Rasmussen scored two goals in the first period with assists first from Molly Shelton and Emily Gunderson and then from Dodds and Shelton.

Goalie Gabby Suhr made 29 saves.
