The Dodge County girls hockey team defeated Lakeville South 7-5, on Saturday, February 9, during the Section One Class AA tournament semifinal game at Hasse Arena.
Emily Gunderson and Jacie Hoehn each scored twice for the Dodge County Wildcats bringing them up from a 2-0 deficit. Bella Wagner scored at 2:31 into the third period, which put the Wildcats into the lead for the rest of the game. Dane Rasmussen had the game-winning shot.
The Wildcats, who are the third seed in the section, will take on first seeded Lakeville North in Owatonna on Thursday, February 14 at 7 pm. This is the first time in Wildcat history that they will play for a section championship. The winner of Thursday night's game will advance to the state tournament, which is scheduled for February 21-23 at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
Stat leaders for the night were Emily Gunderson, two goals, two assists; Darby Dodds, one goal three assists; Jacie Hoehn two goals, one assist and Anna Hunter stopped 27 shots in the goal.
