The Cobra girls found their offense in the second half on Friday, February 1, and pulled out their second HVL Blue Conference win of the 2012-2013 season with a 52-43 win over Cannon Falls.
Haley Staffon returned to action after missing the Thursday night game due to illness. She scored 15 big points and took control of the game down the stretch.
"It was a nice team win for the girls," Coach Brennen Rath said. "We stepped right up and made some shots in the second half, something that has been a big issue all season. We missed a lot of open looks in the first half, so it was good to see the girls keep shooting the ball. Kate Blaisdell really came out and looked confident offensively and made some big three pointers!"
He said that Haley gave them a big lift after missing the previous game.
"She provides a lot of leadership and is a go-to player for us," he said.
Piper Yankowiak also had 7 rebounds and 4 steals in the Cannon Falls game.
Emily Hodgman had 5 blocked shots
Triton's leading scorer was Haley Staffon with 15; Kate Blaisdell, 12; Piper Yankowiak, 8; Emily Weber, 6; Emily Hodgman,6; Katy Erdman, 5.
Stafon made two three-pointers; Blaisdell, two, and Piper Yankowski, 1.
The Cobras led 22-15 at halftime. They made 11-18 free throws.
