The Byron-Lourdes gymnastics team began their 2012-2013 season by winning their own Invitational on Saturday, Dec. 1st. This Invitational is called the Jeanne Harris Invitational-in loving memory of the former coach and mother of our current head coach, Anna Alzamora. Coach Alzamora couldn't be more proud of the girls in their season debut. The Byron JV also competed in the meet and placed 5th. The Bears scored 123 points. Last year Byron- Lourdes placed 2nd in this meet and LaCrescent won it. The Bears have almost everyone back from last years' roster, and they are one more year experienced. The Bears have only won this Invitational 2 other times in the history of this event. They were champions in 2002 and 2003. This was a great way to start and the Bears are looking forward to a great season! They will host Waseca in their next meet on Thursday, Dec. 6th.
