Hayfield Girls Basketball Coach
The Hayfield Lady Vikes basketball team enjoyed team and personal success on the court over the past week. The Vikings went 3-0 and four girls had personal accomplishments.
On Tuesday, December 12, Hayfield traveled to Pine Island for an HVL contest with the Panthers.
Hayfield came out blistering hot in the first half and raced out to a 51-25 halftime lead.
During the first half two individual accomplishments were reached. First, Kate Kruger passed Dani Wagner as the all-time assist leader in Hayfield girls basketball history when she made assist number 297 of her career. About five minutes later Maggie Streightiff hit a shot that put her at 1,000 points for her career.
Both accomplishments were met with a great ovation from the Viking and Panther fans.
When the second half started Hayfield jumped out to a lead as big as 31 points. Pine Island did a good job of staying competitive and closed the game on a nice run to put the final score at Hayfield 80, Pine Island 64.
