Although Triton's boys won only one individual and relay title, they placed highly enough in a multitude of other events to place third behind Lourdes and GMLOKS in the team competition.
Hunter Yankowiak high jumped 5 feet 4 inches to win the high jump competition. The 4 x 100 relay team of Bugarin, Mitchell, Jennings and Avery turned in a solid time of 46.18 to finish second to GMLOKS. The 4 x 400 relay quartet of Bugarin, Trace Sackett, Jennings and Nolan Ferber also placed second in a 3:49.64 to a strong Lourdes team.
Dylan Maas took third in the 110 meter high hurdles (18.15) while teammate Ethan Lau finished fourth (18.28). Maas, along with Justin Ness, Yankowiak and Kyle Mitchell picked up a third place finish in the 4 x 200 relay (1:40.39).
Fernando Bugarin placed third in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 45.24 finishing behind a pair of hurdlers from GMLOKS. Sophomore Trace Sackett went out strong in the 800 meter run but faded a little down the stretch finishing in 2:11.95 which was good for third place and the boys 4 x 400 B relay team of Landon Dostal, Judah Tate, Lau and Ben Tate ran a great time of 3:54.75 to finish fourth.
Nolan Ferber long jumped 18 feet 1 inch to place third and Maas high jumped 5 feet 4 inches to place third as well.
Courtney West continues to dominate area distance runners in her races. She was no different on Friday as she turned in a 11:18.62 3200 meter time to win by a minute and a half. West also led off the 4 x 800 meter relay team, clocking a 2:27 800 meters to help turn in a fourth place finish with Isabella Selthun, Kristina Anderson and Brenna Essig.
The girls 4 x 100 relay team of Jenna Jensen, Chloe Staub, Kendra Petersohn and Kiley Yankowiak placed third in a season best time of 55.73. Staub picked up a fourth place finish in her specialty the 300 meter hurdles (55.41) and finished runner-up in the high jump with a 4 foot 8 inch jump.
