The varsity boys 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays won top honors in Stewartville's Glen Amundsen Invitational's nine team field. Fernando Bugarin, Kyle Mitchell, Hunter Jennings and Anthony Avery teamed up to out-sprint runner up GMLOKS with a 46.77 clocking. The 4 x 400 found sophomore Dylan Maas running the third leg instead of Hunter Jennings and that quartet turned in a season best time of 3:43.79 to top Byron's four by nearly a second and a half.
Trace Sackett improved his season best time in the 1600 meter run in finishing second in a time of 4:52.14 while the 4 x 200 meter relay team of Justin Ness, Judah Tate, Hunter Yankowiak and Jennnigs picked up a third place finish with their 1:41.84 time.
Courtney West lowered her own school record in the 1600 meter run with an impressive 5:15.83. West won her race by 21 seconds over Kaylee Arndt of Lanesboro. She picked up a third place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:32.11.
The Cobras have a busy week ahead with a meet in Blooming Prairie on Tuesday and Hayfield on Thursday.
