The Byron boys golf team teed up an eighth place finish at the Class AA state golf tournament at Sand Creek held June 10-11.
Byron finished with 677 points, behind seventh place's Staples-Motley, which had 640.
Providence Academy, Plymouth won the tournament with 602 points.
In individual scoring, Andrew Sederlund of Virginia/Mr. Iron; Carter Haley of Mankato East and Andrew Israelson of Staples-Motley finished in a three-way tie for first with a two-day total of 144.
For Byron, Jay Puffer placed 52nd with 163; Lance Mortland and Chris Streed tied for 69th with 172; Riley Truax was 75th with 173; Nick Hellemeier was 79th with 174; while Hunter Fjerstad was 81st with 175.
The Byron boys golf team has made it to state in three of the past four years.
