For the third time in four years, the Byron High School boys golf team is headed to the Class AA state golf tournament.
The Bears earned the feat for 2014 by winning the Section 1 tournament May 27-28 at Eastwood Golf Course in Rochester.
The state tournament will be held June 10-11 at Sand Creek.
Hunter Fjerstad led Byron by ranking first at the Section event with a two-day total of 150, besting second place by five strokes.
Jay Puffer tied for seventh with a two-day score of 164; Riley Truax tied for ninth with 165; Nick Hillemeier tied for 12th with 166; Lance Mortland tied for 27th with 174; while Chris Streed placed 35th with a two-day total of 178.
