Rodney William Boynton

Rodney William Boynton was born April 19, 1921 in Medford Township, Medford, Minnesota to Bernice & Bill Boynton. He attended & graduated from Medford High School in Medford, Minnesota. He was a farmer in Medford, Minnesota, grocery store & apartment co-owner in Rochester, Minnesota, pastry shop owner & quilt maker in Phoenix, Arizona. Minnesota.

It was in 1944 he met Charlotte and was married July 30. The marriage was just a few days short of 67 years together when Charlotte passed in 2011. They farmed on the Boynton farm for 28 years. During this time 14 blessings were born (7 boys in a row followed by 7 girls in a row). The highlights of his life was being an amazing farmer with new concepts of farming to be able to take care of the land as well as producing more product, helping people in Rochester with food & lodging while in Rochester, providing tasty food & drink in Phoenix to many people while they shopped and listened to his jokes & stories he told & the many things he did at the Congregational Church in Medford while in Minnesota.

He was devoted to a life of fatherhood and stewardship of the land and of people climaxed with 1 month of in and out of the hospital for blood infections and other associated health problems.

He is survived by his, sons & daughters Craig, (Simona) Italy, Douglas, (Mary) Phoenix, Byron, Phoenix, Lynn (Rosie) Mantorville, Leslie, Phoenix. Tim, Phoenix, Cindy (Gary) Fischer Waseca, Becky (Dan) Pries, Byron, Wendy, (Michael) Samperi, Portland, Sari, Phoenix, Erin, (Jerry) Rotenberger, Phoenix. Also, 31 + grand-children and 19 + great-grand children, many nieces and nephews and special friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte, son, Randy 2 1/2, tractor accident, daughter, Jennifer, still birth; brother, Spencer and mother Bernice, father Bill.

Service will be at the Family Lot at Union Cemetery in Medford, Minnesota later this spring.



Rodney William Boynton passed away Sunday December 30, 2012 very peacefully with Tim (son) by his side. Memorials may be sent to: % Lynn Boynton (son) at PO Box 68, Byron, MN 55920.
