Dwight Arthur Roe
Dwight Arthur Roe, 69, of Red Wing, died Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at his home at Potter Ridge. He was born on November 29, 1948, in Maryville, Missouri to Otis and Nellie (Pitcock) Roe. His family moved to Winona in 1962 and he graduated from Winona High School in 1966. He married Barbara Bohnert on June 29, 1968 at Central Lutheran Church in Winona. He then served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he worked at Penny's Grocery in Winona for a number of years and then worked for United Machine and Foundry from 1976 to 2002. In 2014 he and Barbara moved to Red Wing. He was a member of United Lutheran Church in Red Wing. Dwight enjoyed watching the Twins and Packers, but most of all spending time with his family, playing with the grandkids and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; three children, Greg (Pam) Roe of Red Wing, Troy (Margaret) Roe of Hayfield and Heidi (Tim) Bealer of Quakertown, Pennsylvania; eight grandchildren, Emma, Allison, Adam, Kelsey, Alexis, Zackary, Logan and Kaitlyn; one sister, Jolene (Leonard) Rollins of Hayfield and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter, Anna.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2018, at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing with Reverend Justin Boeding officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to United Lutheran Church, Potter Ridge or donor's choice.
