Roger (Butch) Leslie Knudson, 63 of Dodge Center, Minnesota died at his home on September 12, 2017 of pancreatic cancer. He was born October 11, 1953 at the Howe Maternity Ward in Dodge Center, MN to Robert & Gladys (Wilkins) Knudson.
Butch graduated from Dodge Center High School in 1972. He farmed with his dad on the family farm until 1977. Then he joined Local 49 as an operator and traveled to many states while working pipeline. In the later years he spent most of his time working in Minnesota, Wisconsin & Iowa. He retired in 2016. Butch bought the Wilkin's family farm in rural Dodge Center and lived there for 30 years.
Butch enjoyed fishing, especially ice fishing, camping, snowmobiling, playing poker with family and friends, working in his garage and riding his motorcycle. The motorcycle Flood Runs and Benefit Runs were some of his favorites. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan, enjoying the Vikings and the Twins.
Butch will be remembered as being kind-hearted, caring, generous, soft spoken, a hard worker and a great friend. His witty sense of humor along with his contagious smile will be missed by family and friends.
Butch is survived by sisters Jan Klinger, Barb (Tom) MacVey, Konnie Kerrigan, Julie (Dean) Suilmann and brother John (Donica) Knudson; eight nieces and nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two sisters Geraldine Knudson and Chris Knudson and one nephew Jake Knudson.
A Celebration of Life will be held October 7th at the Dodge Country Club in Dodge Center, from 4-8pm. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
