Jerry was employed by Praxair for 36 years and wore many hats. He worked in numerous areas throughout the company and held several management positions. During his high school years, he enjoyed playing in the Talisman band with fellow classmates. He also played drums for several years within the family band, the Shades of Country, where he was joined by his dad, brother and sister. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing up north, and hunting in his woods.

Jerry was a life-long member of West St. Olaf Lutheran Church and held positions such as President, Council and Choir member.

He is survived by his wife, Ginny; his two daughters Kim and Kelly; grandchildren Morgan and Parker Jacobson, Lauren and Ryan Pratt; two step-grandchildren Andrew and Michael Pratt; sister Sheila (Michael) Kyllo of Hayfield; and brother Gene (Sue) Hyland of Hayfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Elvina Hyland.
