Joyce Ann Ulrich, 75, of Fergus Falls, MN, died on Tuesday, March 25, 2014, under the care of Lakeland Hospice at Woodland Lodge in Fergus Falls.
She was born March 12, 1939, in Russellville, Arkansas, the daughter of Fredrick Carl and Ruby Lee (Maddux) Bangert. She attended parochial School in Denver, Colorado for six years after which her family moved to California. Joyce graduated from Campbell High School in 1957, San Jose, California, also San Jose State College in 1961 where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.
On September 11, 1960, she married Edward Eugene Ulrich in San Jose. The couple resided in San Jose for ten years and then moved to Rochester and McIntosh, Minnesota. In 2000 the family moved to Clitherall before moving to Fergus Falls. The couple were the parents of four children, Shirley, Edward "Eddie", Jennifer and Chrystian, their grandson/son.
Joyce enjoyed teaching school for several years. She also home schooled Chrystian before he attended Hillcrest Academy.
Her hobbies included reading, gardening and enjoying every minute with her family; also drawing and writing short stories. Joyce and Edward traveled to the Bahamas, Mexico, London, Morocco and various sites in Africa.
Preceding her in death were parents; her husband, Edward and a brother, Fredrick Bangert. Joyce looked forward to reuniting with her loved ones and living eternally with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Her family includes two daughters, Shirley Ulrich of Uruguay and Jennifer Ulrich of California; two sons, Edward (Beth) Ulrich of Plymouth and Chrystian Ulrich of Fergus Falls; 11 grandchildren and a sister, Jeanette (Bill) Strong of Yankee Hill, California along with nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service at the church.
Service: 2:00 p.m., Monday March 31, 2014 at Life Church in Fergus Falls, MN
Interment: Camp Ripley, Little Falls, Minnesota
