Solar contract approved

The Dodge County Commissioners approved the solar contract for the construction of the proposed PV solar system located at the transfer station during their meeting on December 11th.
Environmental Services Director, mark Gamm recommended Solar Connections because they offered the lowest price of $73,755. The company also has local experience and provided clear reliable pricing. In a memo to the board, Gamm also stated he felt their choice of mounting system and price for trenching provides great opportunity to stay within budget if site conditions change. The board voted to approve the recommendation and hire Solar Connections for the project.
The board also approved the 2013 mileage rate which will be $0.565 beginning January 1, 2013. They approved the Finance Director to make final bill payments that end prior to the end of 2012.
Other items on the agenda included the approval of the personal agenda, SWCD labor agreement, feedlot assistance contract and the 2013 Budget and Levy Certification.
Overall the county tax rate will decrease 2.17% in 2013.
