Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received until 10:00 A.M., on May 30th 2014, by the City of Hayfield, Minnesota, and immediately opened thereafter in the Council Chambers of Hayfield City Hall.
The City of Hayfield is requesting bids for the 2014 Downtown Sidewalks and Street Lighting Project. Bids shall be clearly marked on the face of the envelope, "Sealed Bid for the City of Hayfield 2014 Downtown Sidewalks and Street Lighting Project." Proposals will be acted upon by the City Council at a meeting to be held in the City Hall, beginning at 7:00 pm, on the 16th day of June, 2014 or at such later time and place as may then be fixed.
Each bid must be made out on a proposal blank furnished by the City of Hayfield.
The Contractor shall commence work after the Notice to Proceed is issued and shall be completed on or before September 1, 2014.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Maintenance Bond and a Payment Bond, both in an amount equal to one hundred (100) percent of the Contract price. Said bonds are to be issued by a responsible surety, approved by the City Council, and which shall guarantee the faithful performance of the Contract and the terms and conditions therein contained, and shall guarantee the prompt payment of all materials and labor and protect and save harmless the City from claims and damages of any kind caused by the operations of the Contractor. Said bond shall also guarantee the maintenance of the improvements constructed for a period of one (1) year from and after its completion and acceptance by the City.

The City of Hayfield reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to re-bid, and to waive any irregularity in any bid received.
