TRITON ISD NO. 2125 - SCHOOL BOARD MINUTES

REGULAR SCHOOL BOARD MEETING

MONDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2012 - 6:00 P.M.

TRITON HIGH SCHOOL - DODGE CENTER, MN

-Meeting Proceedings-

Chair Henslin called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. Those members present: Jon Streiff, Bryce Kleinwort, Dale Jensen, Duane Bartel, Chad Johnson ,Terry Selthun and Lloyd Henslin, Jr.; absent: none. Also present: Superintendent Robert Kelly, Principal Brett Joyce, Principal Nancy Stucky, Student Council Representative Amanda Groll, Deb Meeker, Patty Braeger, Andy Jensen and Caitlin Keller.

Selthun/Kleinwort motioned to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.

Bartel/Streiff to approve consent agenda minus open enrollment/nonresident agreements #101512D, #101512E, #101512F and #101512G and including September 17, 2012 regular meeting minutes; claims and bills; financial report; open enrollment/nonresident agreements for students #101512A, #101512B, #101512C, #101512H, #101512I and #101512J; contracts for Rachel Tate as 9th Grade Girls Basketball Coach and JH Volleyball Coach, Jennifer Komatsu as Preschool Assistant and Michelle Wilson as Educational Assistant. Motion carried unanimously.

Principal Stucky explained the Systems Accountability Report (SAR).

Bartel/Selthun motioned to approve the Systems Accountability Report. Motion carried unanimously.

Jensen/Streiff to approve the proposed certified staff seniority list. Motion carried unanimously.

Kleinwort/Johnson to approve the proposed classified staff seniority list. Motion carried unanimously.

Member Kleinwort introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption:

RESOLUTION OF SCHOOL BOARD SUPPORTING

FORM A APPLICATION TO MINNESOTA STATE HIGH SCHOOL LEAGUE FOUNDATION

WHEREAS, the Minnesota State High School League Foundation was formed to provide support for Minnesota's high school youth to participate in athletics and fine arts;

WHEREAS, the District 2125 School Board recognizes the value of students participation in extracurricular activities; and

WHEREAS, the MSHSL Foundation is offering grants and funding to assist school district in recognizing, promoting and funding extracurricular participation by high school students in athletic and fine arts programs.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Triton School Board supports the District's application to the Minnesota State High School League Foundation for a FORM A grant to offset student activity fees.

The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Jensen, and upon a vote being taken the following voted in favor thereof: Streiff, Johnson, Selthun, Kleinwort, Jensen, Bartel and Henslin; and the following voted against the same: none; WHEREAS, the resolution was declared duly passed.

Superintendent Robert Kelly reported on the following items:

• Construction update

• Possibility of sharing services

• Fall play to be held in West Concord

• MN Department of Education - new evaluation system

Student Council Representative Amanda Groll reported that homecoming went well and the fundraisers were very successful.

Jensen/Streiff motioned to adjourn the meeting at 6:48 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
