COUNCIL MINUTES

April 30, 2013

A special meeting of the City Council of the City of Dodge Center, Minnesota was held on Tuesday, April 30, 2013, at 5:55 p.m. in the Council Chambers of City hall, Dodge Center, Minnesota.

Council members present: Mayor Bill Ketchum, Gary Trelstad, Paul Blaisdell, Matthew Dickie, Cathy Skogen.

Council member absent: None.

City staff present: Lee Mattson, City Administrator.

Meeting Called to Order

Meeting called to order by Mayor Ketchum at 5:55 p.m. Ketchum noted that the meeting would be recessed when the Council met as the Board of Equalization and Review.

Paperless Councils

Ketchum discussed Kasson's model of providing a stipend to Council members to allow them to purchase equipment to use when accessing paperless packets. Council members then become responsible for the equipment and the City has no responsibility if it breaks or is lost. Motion by Trelstad, seconded by Skogen, to instruct staff to produce the policy required to provide a $550 stipend to Councilmembers for the purchase of technology to access Council Packets. Motion carried unanimously.

Recess

The Mayor announced a recess of the Council and reconvened after covering the business of the Board of Equalization and Review.

City Administrator Goals

The Council discussed goals for the coming year. Mattson will develop a letter for Council review and approval.

Veteran's Memorial

Trelstad and Ketchum presented an update on the progress of the Veteran's Memorial project, which is being spearheaded by a group not affiliated with the City. Mattson will work with the City Attorney to develop and agreement to allow the group to construct the memorial on city property.

City Goals

The Council discussed their vision for the City and what projects and initiatives they feel would be helpful.

Adjournment

Motion made by Trelstad, seconded by Skogen, to adjourn at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
