2/4/2014 6:29:00 PM Brownsdale to host Paint the Town Pink this weekend

Brownsdale is decorated in pink and getting read for their first Paint the Town Pink celebration that is scheduled for February 7-9. There fun filled activities planned throughout the weekend.
On Friday, First Farmers and Merchants Bank are having coffee and cookies from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a family movie night at 6 p.m. at the Brownsdale Elementary School; the event is a free will donation. Popcorn and drinks will be provided, families are encouraged to come in their pajamas, bring chairs and blankets and enjoy a fun family movie night. Also Friday night the Roller Rink is hosting Paint the Rink Pink from 7 to 9 p.m. The Brownsdale Roller Derby girls will be present.
On Saturday, a snowmobile run will begin at the Frontier Lounge at 11 a.m. Sign up will start at 10 a.m. The route of the run is not determined, as of yet, it will depend on the trail conditions later in the week before a final route is determined. The cost of the run is five dollars per person and all proceeds will be donated to Paint the Town Pink. The Frontier Lounge is also hosting a silent auction that will run from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. There will be multiple items up for bid, including car washes, gift certificates and a two night stay at Jessie's House in Brownsdale. Brandon Hanson, of Spin Drive DJ will begin playing at 8:30 and run until 12:30. That evening a portion of sales from every Pink Drink of the month will also be donated to Paint the Town Pink.
Also on Saturday, the Ibling Family Farm (located next to IBI Data) will be giving sled rides from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. and serving hot apple cider and treats.
On Sunday a painted bowl soup supper will be served at the Brownsdale Elementary School from 4 to 7 p.m. Soup, bars and drinks will be served; the cost is ten dollars for adults and five dollars for kids. The Paint the Town Pink Button drawing will be held between 5 and 6 p.m. and the demolition car raffle winner will be drawn at 6 p.m. There will also be a bake sale and root beer float sale during the soup dinner.
All proceeds from the Paint the Town Pink fundraiser will be donated the Hormel Cancer Research Institute in Austin and will benefit breast cancer research.
