Recent cool temperatures have made the dog days of summer feel more like fall, but the fun is going to heat up with the return of Bark in the Park.
The third annual Bark in the Park fundraiser benefiting the first off leash dog park in Dodge County will occur in Mantorville's Riverside Park on Saturday Aug. 24.
The cities of Kasson and Mantorville have recently joined forces to make the dream of an area dog park become a reality, and this year's free event will be bigger and better than ever.
From 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., canine spectators and their human companions can take in the nonstop entertainment in the demonstration area.
The talented dogs from the Minnesota Disc Dog Club will be back to showcase their Frisbee catching talents. This year's lineup also includes rally, agility, and pulling demonstrations from some of the area's most clever dogs. Come watch the team of Kasson Police Officer Josh Hanson and K-9 Officer Liberty demonstrate their skills.
The new activities planned are sure to be a howling good time for all.
Dogs can participate in a Pupcake Walk for the chance to win a homemade, dog safe confection from Beggar's Bakery.
Artistic animals can get their paws dirty and make their own Canine Creation painting. Humans can bid on a variety of items in the silent auction after they take in the vendor booths from area dog related businesses and organizations. Bring the whole family down for this pet friendly event! For more information visit the K-M Dog Park on Facebook.
