A benefit to honor the life of Manya Twite Johnson will be held at the New Brighton Community Center on Saturday, March 16 from 4 to 8 pm.
Mayna grew up in Dodge Center and graduated from Triton High School in 1998, she attended Pacific Lutheran University earning bachelor's degree in psychology. She went on to obtain a master's degree in counseling psychology from Bethel University. Mayna died from a domestic assault on January 6, 2013, leaving behind her son, Oliver.
The benefit will feature a spaghetti dinner and will cost $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids ten and under. Friends and family are gathering to honor Manya in a benefit to help with Oliver's expenses from daily necessities to education and future needs.
