By Karen M. Jorgensen
A personnel issue and the purchase of two new school buses were on the Triton School Board's mind at their Monday night meeting.
On a personnel issue, the board voted 5-2 not to hire legal counsel to do a personnel investigation. On the school bus issue they voted unanimously to buy two new 77 passenger gas vehicles and also a used diesel bus.
Details of the personnel issue were not discussed during the meeting with Supt. Brett Joyce saying only that the issue had come up in December, the district had been working with the school attorney to resolve the situation and when the issue could not be resolved internally the attorney advised the board to hire an outside attorney to investigate.
Joyce said that an independent attorney would cost $220 an hour plus mileage. The outside attorney would interview people and submit a report and recommendation to the board.
