The Mantorville Theatre Company is pleased to present the third play of its 45th Summer Melodrama Season, "Ratcatcher's Daughter" or "Death Valley Daze" Written by Tim Kelly and directed by Rachel Soland, the show opens on Friday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mantorville Opera House, and runs every Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and every Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m., through August 13, 2017.

Auntie Hush runs an orphanage in an abandoned stagecoach stop in Death Valley, but she is soon to be evicted by the unscrupulous city slicker, Whiplash Snivel. Sweet Lotta Bliss plans to open a school. Lady Pilfer is looking for Lotta, who has been left a fortune by her deceased parent. Whiplash decides to get Lotta's money by hastening her marriage to her one true love, Jack Sunshine, a salesman of wash-and-wear furs. Alas, Jack owes his allegiance to the bottle. Can Lotta's love save him from the lure of Demon Rum and Rotgut Whiskey? (Not if Whiplash can help it!)

Directed by Rachel Soland of Mantorville, the show features the acting and singing talents of Jace Gray and Lauren Ingram of Mantorville; Jackie Silvernail of Claremont; Maddie Harris of Byron; Rachel Willoner, Owen Radke, and Becca Messick of Rochester; Melisa Ferris, Sophia Ferris, Hannah Herfindahl-Quint, Torsten Herfindahl-Quint, Ben McCaskey, Abbey McKern, Hannah Olson, and Daniel Ziebell of Kasson; and Mary Wellner of Rochester on the piano.

Suitable for all members of the family, this show is sure to please!

Adult admission to the show is just $10, and $8 for those entitled to our "Reduced Rate Admission" including MTC Members, Students, and Seniors.
