The Hayfield School Board, on Monday June 12, voted in favor of a resolution calling for a special election relating to the issuance of school building bonds. The special election will be held September 11, 2017 at the Hayfield High School.
The board approved two questions to be on the ballot;
Question A will read:
Shall the school board of Independent School District No. 203 (Hayfield Community Schools) be authorized to issue its general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $9,990,000 to provide funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities including the renovation, repair, remodeling, retrofitting, upgrading, equipping and construction of improvement to various school district sites and facilities?
Question B will read:
If School District Question 1 is approved shall the school board of Independent School District no. 203 (Hayfield Community Schools) also be authorized to issue its general obligation school building bonds in an amount not to exceed $4,256,000 to provide funds for the acquisition and betterment of school sites and facilities, including the construction of cafeteria and interior concession stand improvements; the completion of dedicated SAC and flex space for before and after school childcare; the construction of secure main building entry improvements, safety and security improvements and remodeling of the district office?
If question one fails question two will automatically fail.
