4/19/2017 3:10:00 PM Court vacates Trom appeal Court of Appeals opinion may bring Trom feedlot case to an end

The long-running dispute between Lowell and Evelyn Trom and Dodge County appears to have reached its conclusion as the Minnesota Court of Appeals has issued an opinion in the case.
The opinion issued by the court on Monday did not, however, make any judgment on the issue of feedlots but rather vacated last summer's District Court decision on the basis that the court lacked subject matter jurisdiction to hear the case.
James Peters, the attorney who represented the Troms throughout the proceedings, said he was disappointed that the Appeals Court decided the case on the issue of jurisdiction.
"It was real disappointing," he said. "They didn't judge the merits of the case."
