Triton's junior varsity and junior high athletes competed in a triangular with Kenyon-Wanamingo and the host Vikings of Hayfield. This was an opportunity for our younger athletes to compete against athletes of their own grade levels. Our kids did a great job and for a good share of our junior high athletes, it was their first competition in track and field.

Winning their events were the boys 4 x 800 relay team of Kiefen Link, Landon Dostal, Owen Petersohn and August Kozisek in a time of 10:29.48, Chloe Staub in the 100 meter hurdles in a time of 19.47, Dylan Maas in the 110 meter high hurdles in a time of 19.67, the girls 4 x 200 meter relay team of Jenna Jensen, Alyssa Mitchell, Elyse Bestor and Staub in a time of 2:23.04 and the boys 4 x 200 relay team of Daegan Dostal, Iain Short, Shane Crofton and Evan Tapp in a time of 2:10.35

Also winning events were the girls 4 x 100 relay of Jensen, Mitchell, Katia Gautrin and Kendra Petersohn in a time of 1:00.25, the boys 4 x 100 relay team of Maas, Hunter Iverson-Himle, Justin Ness and Nathan Meyers in a time of 51.31, Staub in the 300 meter low hurdles in 57.88, Maas in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles in 47.79, and Ness in the 200 meter dash in a time of 25.36.

Winning field events were Staub in the high jump with a leap of 4 feet 4 inches, Maas in the high jump with a 5 feet 4 inch jump, Jensen in the girls long jump with a mark of 15 feet 7 inches, Meyers in the boys long jump with a jump of 17 feet 7 inches, Brenna Essig in the triple jump with a mark of 26 feet 6 and one half inches, and Landon Dostal in the triple jump with a leap of 38 feet 2 inches.
