6/11/2014 2:24:00 PM Summer Art Camp Mantorville Art Guild offers kids something to do when there is "nothing to do!"
The Mantorville Art Guild has modified its summer art camp program. Rather than one week-long camp with just two or three projects, they are offering eight weeks of two day classes featuring fifteen different and exciting creative things to do. Theresa Hoaglund and Loretta Verbout will kick off 2014 Kids' Summer Art Camp with a morning session (9:00-11:30 a.m.) making garden art and an afternoon class (1-3:30 p.m.) painting on t-shirts. Come dressed to get messy!
Kids will build a lighthouse out of flower pots that they stack, glue together and paint. Top your lighthouse off with a solar powered light. This creation will stand about 3 feet tall and is perfect for your backyard or deck. In the afternoon, Loretta and Theresa will again get messy with paint as kids learn the techniques of applying paint to fabric.
For cost information and registration for these two separate classes, call the Mantorville Art Guild 507-635-5665 or go on line at www.mantorville artguild.org for the complete summer schedule and registration forms. This program is funded by a legacy grant through the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council.
