Dr. Carl Bamlet recently left Rochester Chiropractic and Wellness office in Hayfield to return to New Zealand where he had done his internship.

Taking over his office in Hayfield is Dr. David Otto. Dr. Bamlet made these remarks in an email, "I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome Dr. David Otto to the community of Hayfield. Dr. Otto stepped into my chiropractic practice as of January 3, 2013, and I have great confidence in his experience and abilities to meet your healthcare needs. He will see patients both in Hayfield and Rochester as he joins Rochester Chiropractic and Wellness (rochestermnchiro.com)."

Dr. Otto did his undergraduate training nearby, at Mankato State University, and obtained his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1986 at Northwestern Health Science University in the Twin Cities. He has 26 years of experience with pain management, nutrition, general health and wellness, fitness, and athletic training. He aspires to have a positive impact on the health of the community and is available to give talks on health to community groups. Dr. Dave will be treating children and adults both at the Hayfield office and at the Rochester office, where he is joining forces with Dr. Abby Splittstoesser and Dr. Beth McVey.

Dr. Otto prides himself on his aggressive adjustment style and his ability to treat patients in a timely manner. "I've really carved out a niche for my aggressive adjustment style," he explained. "I can get things to move back into place on the first adjustment." He also has a background in nutrition and sports training that he would like to bring to the Hayfield community as well.

Dr. Otto will be seeing patients in the Hayfield office on Tuesday and Friday afternoons and would like to start aiding patients in their personal workouts and nutritional planner. "I'm a 1st Line Therapy provider," he explained. "I provide instruction in living a healthy lifestyle." He helps with coming up with a healthy diet plan, exercise plan to meet personal goals and to help those with health problems such as diabetes and high blood pressure design their diet to no longer need medication to alleviate the symptoms.

"I want to ensure my patients are able to train in a gym safely," he said. "We treat some of their problems here and then we get them back into the gym setting to help become more fit."

Along with hoping to bring more overall health to the Hayfield community, he is also hoping to get an x-ray machine into the office, which will allow him to better treat his patients. "This is a very bare bones practice, we don't have a lot of extra equipment here which is a good thing it allows us to treat patients as efficiently as possible, but I'd really like to bring in an x-ray machine to further benefit the community." He enjoys truly hard case ailments that others have not been able to successfully treat, and he enjoys the challenge of putting the pieces together. "I look at the overall picture," he explained. "There is so much that can go into a symptom, it's fun to put all the pieces together and then be able to treat the cause of the problem, not just the symptoms or pain."

To schedule an appointment with Dr. Otto you can do so online or by calling the Rochester office at 507-424-0655.
