When people think of Scott Hodgman, they remember him as one-of-a-kind, a real contributor to the community with a love for his family and his cars. This year, his good friend Gene Knott along with Scott's sons Nick and Ryan plus help from daughter Amanda and widow Beth Hodgman (former long-time chair of Survival Days) will be running the Scott Hodgman Classic Car & Bike Show Saturday, July 27 on West Main Street from 8 a.m. to noon.

Scott Hodgman was a resident of West Concord well known throughout the community as someone ready to help out and assist others when needed. He was a Concord Township officer. He died November 6, 2012 in a car accident. He co-owned Hodgman Drainage Company with his brother. Scott's three children also work at Hodgman Drainage. Gene recalled a comment Scott made about his kids, "He told me that his kids didn't work for him, they worked with him."

The show will showcase around 60 cars and bikes for all to see and admire - cars ranging from classic to muscle cars. There will be multiple contests to win and multiple trophies handed out, such as the Top Classic Cars 64 and up, Top Muscle Car 65-72, and the Top Modern Muscle Car, like a Mustang or a Camero.

Part of the proceeds will be going to West Concord firefighter Chad Finne who was injured recently in action.

For Gene's second year running the Survival Days car show, he has added bikes. He hopes to make it an annual event in Scott's honor. "It's a great tribute to him - to see all the support for the show, all in his honor," Gene said.

"Scott had many, many friends, I was just fortunate to be one of them."
