The Dodge County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that a homicide did take place in rural Dodge County on Friday, March 23. They say David Riess, 54, of rural Blooming Prairie died from multiple gunshot wounds.
Riess' wife, Lois Ann Riess, is being sought by law enforcement as a person of interest in the murder. Investigators believe she may be armed, and urge the public to call 911 with information on her whereabouts, but do not approach her. Lois Riess is known to frequent casinos.
The Dodge County Sheriff's Office is conducting the investigation with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Office and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) crime lab spent Saturday, March 23, on scene of a suspicious death of a man at Prairie Wax Worm Farms located in rural Dodge County, just outside of Blooming Prairie.
Dodge County Sheriff Scott Rose said that it is a very active ongoing investigation. "When we are able to we will release more information regarding this incident and those involved," he said. "Until then we have no additional information available."
On Sunday the sheriff's office and the BCA released a Crime Alert Attempt to Location Bulletin.
They are attempting to locate Lois Ann Riess, 56. Riess is described as being 5'5", 165 pounds with brown eyes and blonde hair. They noted her hair is lighter than shown in the photo.
She is said to be driving a 2005 white Cadillac Escalade with MN license plate 864-LAE. They say Riess is a person of interest who may have information regarding the investigation.
